Moovs alternative: price, payments and the passenger app compared

Moovs is a well-built product. If you are weighing an alternative, compare three things with real arithmetic: the card rate built into each plan, the passenger app, and user limits.

The main reasons to look for a Moovs alternative are the card rate built into every plan, the price of the passenger app add-on, and the user limits on each tier. If you can negotiate your own processing rate, need a branded passenger app, or have more than a handful of office staff, run the numbers below before you renew.

Moovs is well built and well reviewed, and this is not a hit piece. It is a side-by-side look at how Moovs and LimoGrid charge, with arithmetic you can check, and a section on when you should stay put.

All Moovs figures are as of September 2026, from Moovs' pricing page and the support pages linked inline. Prices change, so confirm them before you decide.

What does Moovs do well?

Moovs has a clean product and a good reputation among operators, and its reviews reflect that. It also has visible AI. As of September 2026:

If an AI answering your phone or a chatbot booking on your website is the reason you chose Moovs, that matters, and we come back to it in the last section.

What does Moovs cost in 2026?

Moovs' pricing page lists the Pro trip allowance as 1,000 a month in one place and 250 in another (as of September 2026), so confirm it with Moovs before you plan around it. The passenger app is an add-on at $499/month plus $1,000 setup. The card rates are built into the plans, and payments run on Moovs Payments.

Why is the card rate the real price?

On a plan with processing built in, the monthly fee is the smaller number. The card rate is the bigger one, and it scales with your revenue.

Worked example: a 400-trip month on Moovs Pro

Say you run 400 trips in a month at an average of $150, all paid by card. That is $60,000 in card volume. As of September 2026, Moovs Pro charges 3% + $0.30:

  • 3% of $60,000 = $1,800
  • 400 × $0.30 = $120
  • Card fees for the month: $1,920

Worked example: a 120-trip month on Moovs Standard

Say 120 trips at the same $150 average, which is $18,000. At Standard's 3.4% + $0.30:

  • 3.4% of $18,000 = $612
  • 120 × $0.30 = $36
  • Card fees for the month: $648

What the comparison really turns on

You would pay card fees to a processor anywhere. So the fair question is not "fees or no fees" but "is the built-in rate better or worse than the rate I can get myself?" Every 0.1 percentage point on $60,000 is $60 a month, or $720 a year. If you can negotiate below 3% + $0.30, the difference is yours to keep. If you cannot, the card fees are roughly a wash and you should compare on software price and features alone.

LimoGrid is not a processor. You connect your own Authorize.Net, Stripe, Square or Midwest account and keep whatever rate you negotiated. With Authorize.Net, card entry happens on the Accept.js hosted form, so card data never touches your servers, and saved cards sit in Authorize.Net customer profiles. Idempotency keys on payments and invoice charges stop a retried request from charging twice. The longer argument is in limo company credit card processing: keep your own merchant account.

What does a passenger app cost on Moovs vs LimoGrid?

This is where the numbers diverge most. As of September 2026, the Moovs passenger app add-on is $499/month plus $1,000 setup. First year: $1,000 + (12 × $499) = $1,000 + $5,988 = $6,988.

On LimoGrid, a passenger PWA is included on every plan, including the free one. It runs in the phone's browser with nothing to install; see the passenger portal. If you want native apps in the App Store and Google Play under your brand, Pro Plus includes passengers booking in your own app, with native iOS and Android apps at a $199 one-time setup. See the passenger app page. Compare what each vendor's app includes before you compare prices; they are not guaranteed to be identical products.

Worked example: first year with a branded passenger app

Moovs Pro with the passenger app, as of September 2026:

  • Software: (12 × $199) + $299 = $2,687
  • Passenger app: $6,988
  • Total: $9,675, with card processing included at 3% + $0.30

LimoGrid Pro Plus with native apps:

  • Software: (12 × $279.99) + $299 = $3,658.88
  • Native apps setup: $199
  • Total: $3,857.88, plus your own processor's fees at your rate

The Moovs figure includes processing and the LimoGrid figure does not, so add your processor's fees to the LimoGrid side before you compare. Before card fees on either side, the gap is $9,675 − $3,857.88 = $5,817.12 for the first year.

What about user and trip limits?

As of September 2026, Moovs Standard includes 3 users and Pro includes 5. LimoGrid Pro and Pro Plus include unlimited users. That matters more than it looks: a dispatcher, a night dispatcher, a reservations agent, an office manager, a bookkeeper and the owner is already six logins. When a plan caps users, people start sharing logins, and a shared login is a security problem as well as an accounting one.

On volume, Moovs Pro covers 250 or 1,000 trips a month, depending on which line of their pricing page you read. LimoGrid Pro covers up to 500 reservations and Pro Plus is unlimited. Going over the reservation limit on LimoGrid never blocks a job. If you regularly run between 500 and 1,000 trips, compare Moovs Pro with LimoGrid Pro Plus, not Pro.

Farm-out is worth checking too. LimoGrid's network combines the Grid, where you post jobs at a rate you set and the passenger stays your customer, with GNET for operators on other software. Our guide to how to farm out limo jobs covers the mechanics.

When should you stay on Moovs?

  • You want an AI voice agent or website booking chatbot today. Moovs documents both. LimoGrid does not offer either today; our AI today is AI reservations, which turn a booking email, PDF or screenshot into a reservation on Pro.
  • You do not want a merchant account. Built-in processing is simpler, and one less vendor relationship has real value.
  • You cannot beat 3% + $0.30. If your own rate would be no better, the payment argument disappears.
  • A corporate client requires specific security documentation. Make sure any alternative can meet that client's requirements before you move.
  • You are mid-season. Never switch software in your busiest month.

If none of those apply, look first at the passenger app and user limits; that is where our worked examples found the gap. For a broader look at the market, including Limo Anywhere, see our buyer's guide to limo dispatch software and the Limo Anywhere alternative comparison.
